Frequently Asked Questions...
Currently, Guardian Alpha focuses on capturing the most critical and time-sensitive diagnoses such as heart failure, kidney disease, and cancer. These conditions carry high relative risk and are most likely to influence your health insights and reports. We plan to expand the medical history section over time to include additional conditions, so your information is as comprehensive as possible.
No. After you add a Care Circle member and both of you give consent, they can receive certain notifications:
Automatic notifications: If your baseline vital signs deviate significantly, you receive a notification and your Care Circle members also get a text alert.
Manual sharing: When you generate a detailed health report (for example, through the Symptom Checker or the Analyze button), you can choose whether to share it. Use the “Send to Care Circle Members” button at the end of the report to share.
This ensures your Care Circle is notified of major changes but does not automatically receive every report.
Guardian Alpha requires an internet connection to generate reports. Please check that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data. If the issue persists, restart your device and try again. For further help, reach out to us via our email : support@guardian-alpha.com
Currently, Guardian Alpha connects only with Apple Watch through Apple Health. Supported Apple Watch models:
- Series 3 or newer
- SE (2nd generation, not 1st generation)
- Ultra and Ultra 2
Your watch must run watchOS 8 or later, and your iPhone must be running iOS 15 or later.
When prompted, be sure to allow Guardian Alpha to access Apple Health data. Vital signs supported include:
- Heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Blood oxygen (if supported by your model)
- Respiratory rate
- Wrist temperature (if supported by your model)
If your Apple Watch model does not support a particular vital sign (for example, Series 5 does not measure wrist temperature), that metric will not appear on Guardian Alpha’s dashboard.
Guardian Alpha measures your vital signs only during sleep to capture resting physiology and reduce noise from daytime activity. To see your data:
- Wear your Apple Watch while sleeping. Keep at least 30% battery before bed.
- Make sure your watch fits snugly—not too tight, not too loose.
- Ensure your iPhone stays charged. Data is not transferred while the phone is powered off.
- Set up a Sleep Schedule and enable Sleep Focus in the Health app (Health → Sleep → Full Schedule & Options).
- On your Apple Watch, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Health and confirm that Heart Rate, Blood Oxygen, Wrist Temperature, and Respiratory Rate are enabled.
- Keep your watch and iPhone updated to the latest software versions. Restarting both after updates can help.
If you still don’t see data after following these steps, reach out to us via our email : support@guardian-alpha.com
Guardian Alpha tracks your vital signs during sleep to establish a personalized resting baseline.
During your first 7 nights of sleep, the app displays your nightly averages.
After 7 nights, Guardian Alpha establishes a baseline range for each vital sign which appears just under your recent sleep average.
Baselines adjust continuously using a rolling average of your most recent 30 sleep sessions.
Upward arrow: Your most recent value is above your baseline range.
Downward arrow: Your most recent value is below your baseline range.
If the change is small, it will not trigger an alert. Larger deviations may trigger notifications.
Guardian Alpha uses two tiers of alerts:
Moderate change → Dashboard turns yellow.
Notable change → Dashboard turns orange.
These alerts signal that your vital signs are deviating significantly from your normal baseline. Both you and your Care Circle (if enabled) will be notified.
